ROUTE, SWITCH, and TSHOOT
courses prepare network engineers for new Cisco certification
requirements and on-the-job tasks
Cairo (Egypt) – January 25,
2010 – Global Knowledge, current Cisco
Global Learning Partner of the Year, today announced the
availability of three new courses to support major changes to
Cisco’s CCNP, CCIP, and CCDP certifications announced this week at
Networkers at Cisco Live 2010. The exam and courseware changes
reflect the knowledge and skills required for today’s networking
professional, with specific focus on security and complex routing
and switching, including support for branch offices, mobile
workers, and delivery of voice services via the campus network.
"The new curriculum puts more emphasis on the actual job tasks
of a professional network engineer,” said Eric Strause, Cisco
Product Director at Global Knowledge. “As Cisco continues to evolve
its products to meet the demand for specialized skills, we are
committed to bringing training on these new requirements to our
customers quickly. With our proven ability to rapidly launch a
worldwide schedule and prime our instructors, we are ready to
deliver now.”
In
ROUTE - Implementing Cisco IP Routing v1.0, administrators of
medium-to-large network sites will learn to use advanced routing to
provide scalability for Cisco routers that are connected to LANs
and WANs. Students will practice implementing techniques in
hands-on labs, learning to dramatically increase the number of
routers and sites instead of redesigning the network when
additional sites or wiring configurations are added.
In
SWITCH - Implementing Cisco Switched Networks v1.0, students
will learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of
complex enterprise switching solutions for campus environments
using the Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture.
In
TSHOOT - Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks
v1.0, students will gain the skills needed to maintain complex
networks and to diagnose and resolve network problems quickly and
effectively. Students will learn troubleshooting and maintenance
procedures, and they will reinforce the concepts by putting them to
use in a controlled lab environment.
The new ROUTE and SWITCH courses replace the BSCI and BCMSN
courses, respectively. TSHOOT is a new course made up of
approximately 70% hands-on lab scenarios focusing on
troubleshooting skills. ISCW and ONT will be withdrawn.
Global Knowledge enhances its Cisco training courses with
custom, hands-on exercises and labs designed by professionals with
real-world Cisco networking experience. Training courses for the
new CCNP, CCIP, and CCDP certifications are available in Global
Knowledge classrooms worldwide or via private on-site delivery. For
