Microsoft Optimization
What is Microsoft Optimization MO?
MO or Infrastructure Optimization (IO) is a technology maturity
model that maps infrastructure technology to business needs. This
model helps the IT customer understand how to move their
organization's IT from a Basic IT level where they spend most of
their time "Fighting Fires," to a Dynamic IT level where the IT
Dept becomes a strategic asset of the organization.
MO provides a framework or a pattern where the IT customer and
their external vendors, suppliers, partners can discuss their
business needs and their direction. This discussion has already
started with most of Microsoft's medium to large customers and the
Microsoft Sales Field; and it is a great language for the Certified
Partner for Learning Solutions to leverage in participating in the
bigger sales opportunities.
This flexible model also lets us talk about people and processes
as part of the equation in addition to technology.

infrastructure technology to business needs. The outcome for each
level is a more mature IT infrastructure.
What are the three parts of MO?
Each area of Microsoft Optimization is broken down into key

such as Business Intelligence capability within Application
Platform optimization or the Desktop, Device and Server Management
