Certified Information Systems Security Professional -
CISSP
Overveiw:
The CISSP® certification is recognized and honored by the
technology industry worldwide.
The CISSP credential continues to grow in recognition and
stature and serves as a mark of excellence throughout the industry.
The CISSP is the first international IT credential to become
ANSI-accredited under ISO/IEC 17024.
(ISC)² certifications are required for employment in an
ever-increasing number of private and public sector
organizations.
The CISSP and other (ISC)² certifications identify individuals
as having demonstrated competence and industry knowledge directly
related to job performance by virtue of passing the required
examination(s) and meeting other examination prerequisites.
Clearly, as more and more employers seek and even require one or
more of the (ISC)² certifications, (ISC)² certifications
significantly benefit individuals seeking advancement, improved
marketability or access to peer networking.
Prerequisites:
The applicant must meet the following requirements to qualify to
sit for the examination:
- Subscribe to the (ISC)² Code of
Ethics.
- Have a minimum five years of direct full-time security
professional work experience in two or more of the ten domains of
the information systems security.
Valid experience includes information systems (IS)
security-related work performed as a practitioner, auditor,
consultant, investigator or instructor, that requires IS security
knowledge and involves the direct application of that knowledge.
The five years of experience must be the equivalent of actual
fulltime IS security work (not just IS security responsibilities
for a four year* period); this requirement is cumulative, however,
and may have been accrued over a much longer period of
time.Certified Information Systems Security Professional
